Join me on a photo tour of the iconic Foreign Correspondents Club, located in the heart of Siem Reap, Cambodia. Originally established as a hub for journalists covering the Khmer Rouge regime, the club has been transformed into a luxury hotel that still retains its historic charm.
Explore the hotel's elegant rooms, dine on delicious cuisine at the restaurant and bar, and take in stunning views of the city from the rooftop terrace. I first visited the FCC over twenty years ago, before the hotel wing was added, and enjoyed several evenings relaxing after busy days at Angkor Wat and surrounding temples. It was an absolute pleasure to return and stay.
The hotel is well designed, integrates well with the original 'Mansion' building and still retains its charm. The hotel retains touches of the journalist past, including a typewriter in each room, and a wide range of reading material. The staff are excellent, and certainly know how to make great cocktails and mix drinks, including their own brand of FCC Gin.
Situated in the heart of the city, this historic building was once a meeting place for journalists, diplomats and aid workers. Today, it has been transformed into a stylish hotel that preserves the club's rich heritage and offers guests a unique experience. From the stunning outdoor bar to the elegant rooms and suites, there's something for everyone at the Foreign Correspondents' Club. I look forward to returning.
